2019 New York 'Woodland Cherry' Cabernet Franc
Flavors reminiscent of native cherries growing on woodland edges in the Finger Lakes. Medium bodied.
Cabernet Franc with flavors reminiscent of native cherries growing on woodland edges in the Finger Lakes. Medium bodied with bright red fruits, peppery spice and subtle oak.
Sourced from three different vineyards: two on Keuka Lake including our family’s block, and one closer to our urban winery, up near Lake Ontario. The grapes were handpicked and destemmed but not crushed. This whole berry fermentation promotes the bright red fruit characters in the wine. As the fermentation continues, the Cabernet Franc berries gradually break apart for more extraction of the color, tannin and flavors from the skins.
