Making an Impact with Wine
At Sip Wines, we believe that creating a positive impact means actually putting in effort. We do this by championing these U.S. based wineries on our platform to highlight the good work they are doing in their communities. Take a look at all the great things happening.
Businesses with fewer than 500 employees account for 48% of American jobs and 43.5% of GDP, but despite being an essential piece of our economy, they are often overshadowed by large businesses. Sip Wines promotes small wineries, meaning those producing under 20,000 cases of wine per year. We want to do our part to support this vital part of our economy and society.Explore our wineries
Women in business
In an industry traditionally dominated by men, women are claiming their place in wine, with some amazing results. Sip Wines proudly partners with wineries founded, run, and/or operated by women.Explore woman led wineries
A more inclusive wine community
Slowly but surely, underrepresented populations are becoming more visible in the wine world. Wineries owned and/or run by people who identify as BIPOC and/or LGBTQ+ are featured on the Sip Wines site.Explore wineries promoting diversity
Renewable energy powered businesses
Our planet is suffering from excessive carbon emissions. Renewable sources of energy are those that replenish themselves (think wind, geothermal, solar) and can be used to reduce carbon emissions. We highlight wineries that use renewable energy sources to power their business.Explore renewable wineries
Sustainable vineyard & winery practices
Sip Wines is committed to working with wineries that strive to reduce their environmental footprint. We feature wineries that have implemented sustainable practices and have been awarded certifications from third-party sustainability groups. Click into individual winery profiles to learn more about their specific practices.Explore sustainable wineries
Better corporate governance
B Corporations (B Corps) are defined as businesses that are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. We showcase wineries that have committed to balance purpose with profit.Explore B Corp wineries
What is Sip Wines doing to help?
In addition to supporting wineries with these attributes, Sip Wines is committed to making an impact ourselves. That is why we have chosen to invest our time and money into the following causes.
1% for the Planet
Sip Wines has committed to supporting the environment by joining 1% for the Planet. Through this charity, we contribute one percent of our annual revenue to environmental causes.
Carbon neutral shipping
Wine shipments, like all shipments, have carbon emissions tied to them. To make up for it, Sip Wines purchases carbon offsets for each bottle of wine shipped by wineries on our site.
Sip Wines is majority female-owned and is committed to equality in our hiring practices and to promoting other woman owned and led businesses.
